Collections Assistant - Canada Summer Jobs Position - 8 weeks
As a Collections Assistant, under direction from the Managing Director, you are responsible for assisting with the coordination and completion of the digital catalogue using Past Perfect museum software, in addition to assessment, care and storage of collection items.
Photography/scanning and description of all objects shall be completed, with general research compiled regarding specific sub-sections of the collection as relevant.
This position may also work as part of a team with other summer or short contract staff, in coordination with Managing Director, as may be available throughout the year, to further the museum's overall Collections Management plan.
All museum staff contribute to the development and creation of social media content as well as the overall day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building as may be required.
What we are looking for:
β Strong digitization, technical and photography skills
β Experience in safe handling procedures and working with museum objects and archival materials
β Knowledge of Past Perfect museum software;
β Excellent project management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure;
β Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at all levels;
β Strong research, editing and proofreading skills with exhibit curation skills an asset;
Physical Requirements:
β Lifting up to 15kgs;
β Working at heights (stepladder only);
β Our historic building location does not have an elevator, must be able to carry items from collection storage via stairs between floors for photography, etc;.

Interpretive Guide - Canada Summer Jobs Position - 8 Weeks
As an Interpretive Guide, under direction from the Managing Director, you may assist with the greeting and guiding visitors through the museum, POS tasks and gift shop routines, helping with different events within the museum space, as well as general cleaning and maintenance of the building.
You may also be tasked with the coordination and completion of the digital catalogue using Past Perfect museum software, in addition to assessment, care and storage of collection items as time permits.
This position may also work as part of a team with other summer or short contract staff.
All museum staff contribute to the development and creation of social media content as well as the overall day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building as may be required.

Collections Assistant - YCW Summer Position - 8 weeks
As a Collections Assistant, under direction from the Managing Director,you will be responsible for the coordination and completion of a collection/archival review project as assigned. Items may include archival documents, textiles, objects, and other ephemera.
Photography and description of all objects shall be completed, with general research compiled regarding specific sub-sections of the collection. Updating the digital catalogue using Past Perfect software will be an integral part of this position. Cleaning and storage of the items as required. All museum staff contribute to the overall day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building as may be required.
What we are looking for:

β Experience in safe handling procedures and working with museum objects and archival materials
β Knowledge of Past Perfect museum software;
β Excellent project management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure;
